The National Sports Commission (NSC) has formally constituted the Electoral Committee that will oversee the conduct of the forthcoming National Sports Federations Elections.
In a statement signed by its Director of Press, Dr. (Mrs.) Kehinde Ajayi, the Commission said the decision reflects its commitment to fairness, transparency, and accountability in the administration of sports governance in Nigeria.
The newly formed Electoral Committee is chaired by Dr. Simon Ebhojiaye, with Barr. Samson Ebomhe serving as Vice Chairman. Other members include Mr. Lawal Adeoye Waheed, Hon. Tunde Popoola, Barr. Maryam Orotope Paul, Mr. Farouk Yelima, while Mrs. Rita Mosindi will serve as Secretary.
The Committee is mandated to release the election timetable and oversee all stages of the electoral process, culminating in the conduct of credible elections across all sports federations.
The NSC called on stakeholders, athletes, administrators, and the wider sports community to support the Committee in executing what it described as a “critical national assignment” aimed at strengthening the governance of Nigerian sports.
