The Ogun State Government, in collaboration with Arise Integrated Industrial Platform (AIIP), has initiated the groundwork for the establishment of a $2 billion garment production facility, described as the largest of its kind in Africa.
Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration unveiled a project implementation team comprising top state officials and representatives of the India-based multinational to oversee the commencement and smooth execution of the massive industrial venture.
The groundbreaking initiative is expected to revolutionize Nigeria’s textile and apparel industry, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and significantly boost the state’s economy.
The project will be sited within one of Ogun State’s Special Economic Zones and will benefit from infrastructure support, tax incentives, and streamlined regulatory processes.
Arise Integrated Industrial Platform, known for its pan-African industrial investments, brings to the table a wealth of experience in building export-focused manufacturing ecosystems. The company has been instrumental in similar large-scale projects across Africa.
According to officials, the garment hub will incorporate state-of-the-art machinery, training centres, and logistics systems to support large-scale production and international export. When completed, it will serve as a critical supply point for global fashion retailers and brands.
Governor Abiodun hailed the project as a milestone achievement in his administration’s industrialization drive and a major step towards positioning Ogun as Nigeria’s manufacturing nerve centre.
Construction is set to begin before the end of 2025, with full operations expected to commence in phases starting 2026.
