Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has expressed concern over the rising cost of living in Nigeria, revealing the heavy financial burden of accessing basic amenities.
Speaking on a recent episode of Jigsaw on African Independent Television, the 78-year-old actor said he spends about N40,000 every day to power his home due to the country’s electricity challenges.
Edochie explained that the amount includes about N10,000 for electricity and an additional N30,000 for diesel and fuel to run generators.
The veteran actor also voiced frustration over worsening economic conditions and questioned why life keeps getting harder for ordinary Nigerians. He also accused some political leaders of marginalising the South-East region in infrastructure development, particularly railway transportation.
