The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday officially commenced the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants seeking to contest the forthcoming National Assembly bye-elections scheduled for August 16 across 12 states.

The bye-elections are necessitated by legislative vacancies caused by resignations or deaths of former lawmakers, many of whom left to assume executive positions.

At the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Mr. Oscar Aghedo, a leading contender for the Ovia South-West/North-East Federal Constituency in Edo State, picked up his forms and pledged quality representation if elected.

“My goal is to push for infrastructural development and ensure proper representation.

I will not only continue from where the former lawmaker and current deputy governor stopped, but also invest in human capital,” Aghedo told journalists.

He urged the party’s National Working Committee to ensure transparent and credible primaries scheduled for July 19, promising to prioritize youth and women empowerment, as well as poverty alleviation.

Similarly, Mr. Yakubu Waziri, a House of Representatives aspirant for Chikun/Kajuru Constituency in Kaduna State, said peace has returned to the area under President Tinubu’s administration. He promised to focus on security and youth development if elected.

The APC has intensified internal activities across the states ahead of 2027, including policy roundtables, reconciliation efforts, and rising intra-party debates.
