The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its preparations for the 2027 senatorial election in Benue South, marking the move with the inauguration of an advisory council and the opening of a campaign headquarters for its aspirant, Dr. David Olofu.
The campaign office was unveiled on Sunday alongside the constitution of a campaign council chaired by Sir John Ngbede, while Chris Adaba Abah was named Director General.
Addressing supporters at the event, Olofu described the development as the beginning of a new political chapter for Benue South. He emphasized the need for purposeful leadership capable of delivering tangible results, adding that his campaign would prioritize economic growth, improved security, and expanded grassroots opportunities.
In his remarks, Ngbede said the initiative represents a strategic effort to reposition Idomaland, noting that the campaign council is made up of experienced stakeholders dedicated to advancing the vision.
The advisory council features prominent political figures and professionals, including Godday Samuel, Prof. David Salifu, Chief Patrick Ogbu, Dr. Steve Onmeje, Hassan Saleh, Jacob Ogwuche, Group Capt. Steve Adah (rtd), Igbiri Idah, Okpe Onah, and Samson Okwu, among others.
