Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, have intensified preparations for their crucial second-leg clash against Rwanda’s She-Amavubi in the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Nigerian side holds a slim advantage after edging the first leg 1-0 at the Kigali Pelé Stadium. With Saturday’s return leg set for the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, head coach Moses Aduku has been drilling his players to ensure a commanding performance.
Thursday’s training session lasted two hours and placed strong emphasis on tactical awareness, positional play, build-up strategies, and sharp attacking transitions. Aduku, alongside assistant coach Effiowan Ekpo, goalkeepers’ trainer Lateef Yusuf, physio staff, and media coordinator Zulfa’at Rano, oversaw the high-intensity exercises.
According to team officials, focus has been on fitness, cohesion, and creativity in the final third, as the Falconets look to secure a convincing result on home soil.
The all-important match will kick off at 4 pm on Saturday, September 27, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, where fans are expected to turn out in large numbers to cheer the team towards the next round of qualification.
