The Dooyum Dio Foundation (DDF) Tournament served up a dramatic contest on Friday as Mighty Junior FC Avi edged Holy Cross FC Tian 3–2 in a thrilling encounter at Adzer Beke College, Korinya-City.
Mighty Junior began strongly with jersey No. 11, Ayisa, firing in a brace to give his side a commanding lead. Holy Cross responded before the break, as their talismanic forward Michael (No. 9) struck to reduce the deficit and keep his team in the game.
The second half produced more fireworks. Michael scored again for Holy Cross to level the scoreline at 2–2, sending their supporters into wild celebrations. However, Avi quickly restored their advantage through jersey No. 10, whose decisive goal sealed the 3–2 victory.
Despite the defeat, Holy Cross’s Michael was named Man of the Match for his brilliant brace and all-round performance.
The result sees Mighty Junior FC Avi advance confidently in the ongoing DDF Tournament, while Holy Cross will need to regroup for their next challenge.
