Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade paid an emotional visit to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Saturday, where she shared her recent Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) success with members of her spiritual family.
The Nigerian forward was a special guest during the church’s monthly Power Must Change Hands service. In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, Ajibade presented her WAFCON championship medal and individual accolades—including three Woman of the Match awards and the prestigious Player of the Tournament trophy—to the church’s General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, and his wife.
Addressing the congregation, Ajibade attributed the Super Falcons’ record-extending 10th WAFCON title to divine grace and protection.
She emphasized that the visit and the symbolic handover of her awards were acts of thanksgiving to God for His guidance, favor, and safety throughout the intense competition.
Renowned for her unwavering faith and commitment to her Christian beliefs, Ajibade was received with loud applause and joyful worship by the MFM members, who celebrated her achievements with songs and prayers.
Ajibade’s influence was pivotal throughout the tournament. Though she scored just once, her leadership and dynamic play were central to Nigeria’s triumphant campaign. Her performance earned widespread praise and capped off what has been a remarkable chapter in her career.
The visit underscored not only Ajibade’s sporting excellence but also her dedication to faith and gratitude, serving as an inspiration to many within and beyond the sports community.
