Nigeria’s Super Falcons forward, Francisca Mlumun Ordega, brought smiles to the faces of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Makurdi, Benue State, as she paid a heartfelt visit to an IDP camp on Tuesday to celebrate her recent football achievement.
Ordega, who recently won her fifth Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) medal with the Super Falcons, dedicated the historic feat to the displaced families, many of whom are victims of violence and insecurity across the state.

In a commendable act of generosity, the football star donated a wide range of relief materials including bags of rice, garri, maize flour, toiletries, drinking water, sanitary pads, cooking essentials, footballs, and wrappers. Her visit drew hundreds of IDPs who cheered her on with songs and gratitude.
Speaking during the visit, Ordega said her gesture was borne out of a desire to give back to her roots and to show solidarity with the displaced communities in her home state.
“This medal is not just for me, it is for every girl, every mother, every child here who still believes in hope despite the hardship. I want you all to know that you are not forgotten,” she said.
Local leaders and camp officials expressed deep appreciation for the footballer’s continued support, describing her as a true ambassador of Benue and a symbol of hope for many.
Francisca Ordega, who hails from Gboko in Benue State, has consistently used her platform to advocate for the welfare of vulnerable populations and youth empowerment. Her visit once again reinforces the importance of community support and humanitarian outreach in times of crisis.
