Suspected gunmen on Saturday evening attacked a Benue Links commercial bus conveying passengers along the Otukpo axis of Benue State.
The bus, which had departed Makurdi for Lagos, was reportedly ambushed shortly after leaving Otukpo town near the Burnt Bricks area.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers suddenly opened fire on the vehicle, triggering panic among passengers. Three occupants sustained gunshot injuries, while others escaped by fleeing the scene.
The injured passengers were rushed to the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo, where they are currently receiving treatment.
