With the current political dynamics at play, it is only just and equitable that the North Central region takes its rightful turn in producing the next National Chairman of the APC.

In this light, Senator Barnabas Gemade stands out as the most qualified and suitable candidate for the job.

His deep-rooted experience, outstanding leadership credentials, and unwavering commitment to public service position him as the ideal person to lead the ruling party.

Senator Gemade’s experience in party administration is unmatched within the North Central zone. Over the years, he has held several prominent roles across political platforms, including serving as National Chairman of the Congress for National Consensus (CNC), and later as Chairman of all Chairmen of political parties during the 1990s.

Most notably, he served as the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where he led the party to numerous electoral victories. These milestones underscore his strategic insight, political savvy, and capacity to manage a large and diverse political organization like the APC.

Beyond his party leadership roles, Senator Gemade boasts a rich background in both legislative and executive functions.

As a Senator for eight years, he played an influential role in shaping Nigeria’s policy direction through impactful legislation. His earlier role as Minister of Works and Housing in 1993 highlights his executive competence and ability to translate policy into action.

These combined experiences offer him a balanced perspective on governance—one that is essential for steering a party like the APC in a complex political environment.

His leadership journey is also supported by a strong professional foundation. A British-trained highway engineer, Senator Gemade was appointed the first indigenous Managing Director of the Benue Cement Company (BCC).

His tenure at BCC demonstrated his capacity for innovation, management, and results-oriented leadership, all of which are essential traits for a party leader seeking to unite various interests and strengthen the APC ahead of future elections.

Senator Gemade’s suitability for the APC chairmanship is not only based on his resume but also on his commitment to service, integrity, and national unity.

He embodies the values of inclusivity and development that the APC must uphold, especially as it prepares for future political battles.

His emergence would also reflect a strategic political balance, as the North Central has long awaited its turn to produce the party’s National Chairman.

Now more than ever, the APC needs a steady hand and a seasoned figure to guide it through challenging political waters. Senator Gemade offers not just experience, but also the wisdom, maturity, and patriotic zeal required to elevate the party to new heights.

For the sake of justice, equity, and strategic growth, the North Central should be given the opportunity, and Senator Gemade is the right man for the job.
