President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate release and full payment of allowances and match bonuses owed to the Super Falcons ahead of their crucial WAFCON 2025 final against hosts Morocco.

This development comes as a morale boost for the Nigerian women’s national team, who are aiming to lift a record-extending 12th WAFCON title.

The gesture by the President underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Nigerian athletes, especially in key international tournaments.

Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, confirmed the approval on Thursday, stating that President Tinubu’s directive demonstrates his dedication to the welfare of Nigerian sportsmen and women.

He assured the Falcons of the government’s unwavering support as they prepare to take on the Moroccans in what promises to be a thrilling final clash.

The final is set to hold this weekend in Casablanca, with Nigeria eyeing a repeat of their 2018 WAFCON triumph over South Africa and aiming to qualify strongly for the upcoming Olympics.
