President Bola Tinubu has tasked the newly appointed service chiefs with intensifying efforts to end insecurity across the nation, emphasizing that Nigerians are eager for concrete outcomes rather than excuses.

The President gave the charge on Thursday during the official decoration ceremony of the service chiefs held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He reminded them of their duty to serve with unwavering patriotism and commitment to the nation’s peace and stability.

“As leaders of our armed forces, you must approach your responsibilities with dedication and national pride. Nigerians expect results, not excuses,” Tinubu declared.

He commended the military for the progress made so far in restoring peace to several regions previously under the control of insurgents and bandits, acknowledging their role in rescuing abducted citizens and weakening terrorist operations.

However, Tinubu noted that more work remains to be done, especially as new security threats continue to emerge across different parts of the country.

“Our administration is deeply concerned about the rise of new armed groups in the North-Central, North-West, and some southern areas. These threats must be confronted head-on,” he cautioned.

“We must act swiftly and decisively—cut off the snakes before they strike. The unrest that started in 2009 cannot be allowed to drag on any longer,” the President added.
