Troops of the 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) have arrested 15 armed militias allegedly responsible for burning huts in Jamrop Village, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operation, conducted on 19 September 2025, followed credible intelligence reports on the activities of the armed group. According to the JTF, the troops employed technology-enabled surveillance to intercept the suspects during the offensive operation.
Recovered from the militias were 15 fabricated rifles, 105 cartridges, and other items, which are now in military custody along with the suspects.
Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of Operation ENDURING PEACE, said efforts are underway to track down other fleeing members of the group. He stressed that the troops are redoubling efforts to enhance operational awareness in order to safeguard the Joint Operations Area and halt criminal activities.
The latest crackdown highlights the ongoing military push to expose and dismantle networks of armed criminals destabilizing communities across Plateau State.
