According to U.S. President Donald Trump, Israel has agreed to the terms of a proposed 60-day ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza conflict, placing the responsibility on Hamas to accept the deal and bring an end to the hostilities.

Trump made the announcement on Tuesday via his social media platform, Truth Social.

During the proposed two-month truce, the United States, in collaboration with key regional players including Qatar and Egypt, plans to intensify diplomatic efforts to reach a permanent resolution to the conflict.

Trump emphasized the urgency of the moment, warning Hamas that the deal on the table is their best chance at peace.

“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better – IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump wrote.

The president disclosed that U.S. officials held what he described as a “long and productive meeting” with Israeli representatives on Tuesday to solidify the terms of the ceasefire.

However, there has been no official statement from the Israeli government regarding the development.

The announcement comes just days after Trump first hinted at a potential breakthrough in negotiations.

He is also expected to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington next week, where the Gaza war will reportedly top their agenda.

Trump expressed optimism about the peace initiative, stating that he anticipates an agreement will be finalized next week.

The U.S.-led ceasefire plan has been in the works for weeks, with the initial 60-day pause in fighting seen as a critical window to negotiate a broader, long-term peace arrangement in the region.
