U.S. President Donald Trump has officially placed Nigeria on the list of Countries of Particular Concern (CPC) following reports of widespread attacks and persecution targeting Christians across the country.

In a post shared on his Truth Social platform on Friday, Trump expressed deep concern over what he described as an escalating threat to Christianity in Nigeria. He alleged that radical Islamist groups are behind the mass killings of thousands of believers, calling the situation a “grave humanitarian crisis.”

As part of his response, Trump directed the U.S. State Department to include Nigeria on its special watchlist for nations accused of violating religious freedoms — a list that already features countries like China, North Korea, Russia, Myanmar, and Pakistan.

The U.S. leader also disclosed that he had tasked Representatives Riley Moore and Tom Cole, along with the House Appropriations Committee, to investigate the matter further and provide detailed reports on the ongoing situation.
