The Yobe State Government has announced the immediate closure of all boarding secondary schools across the state as a precautionary step to protect students amid rising security concerns nationwide.
The directive was issued after Governor Mai Mala Buni met with security chiefs to assess recent incidents involving schools in different parts of the country.
In an official circular signed by Dr. Bukar Aji Bukar, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, all boarding secondary schools were instructed to shut down until the security situation improves.
Governor Buni urged residents to continue praying for the state’s leadership, security agencies, and for lasting peace and stability across Nigeria.
