The House of Parliament of the Students Union at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, has announced the indefinite suspension of its president, Comrade Tivkaa Evelyn Terwanger, over allegations of forgery, criminal impersonation, gross misconduct, and misappropriation of funds.
In a resolution passed during its plenary session on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, the House voted unanimously to remove Comrade Terwanger from office pending the conclusion of investigations.
According to the official notification, she has also been directed to immediately hand over all Students Union property in her custody to the Vice President, Comrade Ojotota Emmanuel Abi, who will serve as Acting President during the interim period.
The Parliament has further warned the general public not to conduct any official transactions with the suspended president, stressing that only the acting president is recognized to represent the MOAUM Students Union until further notice.
“The Parliament reiterates its resolve to continually uphold the tenets of transparency and accountability for the collective well-being of all MOAUM students,” the statement read.
Copies of the suspension notice have been sent to key university and security stakeholders, including the Acting Vice Chancellor, the Dean of Students Affairs Division, the Legal Advisor, the Security Coordinator, the Benue State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The letter was signed by the Speaker of the House, Sen. Henry Terpva, and the Clerk, Sen. Asule Terfa.
