In a renewed effort to curb rising insecurity in Benue State, military personnel have been deployed to Afia community in Ukum Local Government Area, bringing hope for stability and peace to the troubled region.

The deployment, which comes amid heightened concern over violent attacks and criminal activities in the area, was warmly received by local leaders and residents.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Chief Utambe Nyagba (Mue Ter Cha) and Comrade Boga Abuul commended the government for taking decisive action to safeguard lives and property. They described the military presence as a timely and strategic move toward restoring order.

Both leaders also pledged the community’s full support and cooperation with the security operatives to ensure the success of the mission. They expressed optimism that the intervention would mark a turning point in efforts to secure Ukum and surrounding areas from further violence.

The deployment is part of broader security operations being rolled out across Benue State to address persistent threats posed by armed groups and criminal gangs.
