A socio-political group, National Youths Coalition, NYC, has raised the alarm that some Abuja-based All Progressives Congress(APC) stakeholders have concluded plan to compromise the general elections to the opposition parties in Benue State.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the group’s National Convener, Mr. John Vershima, Esq, and made available to journalists on Thursday.

The group, therefore, called for immediate intervention by President Bola Tinubu to truncate the plot.

NYC disclosed that the plot was revealed during a meeting held in Abuja at the instance of a former Senatorial aspirant on the platform of APC in the state a couple of days ago.

The group stated that three days ago, about 21 aggrieved chieftains of APC from Benue State met in the office of a strong member of the federal cabinet in Abuja.

The group alleged that the aggrieved chieftains vowed at the meeting not to work with Governor Hyacinth Alia and the ruling party in the state in 2027 general elections.

Reacting to the alleged plot, NYC said there’s a well publicized strategic partnership between the federal cabinet member and the Benue State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

The group expressed concerns that the strategic partnership might make APC lose all the elective positions to the 2027 general elections to PDP.

The statement reads: “The strategic partnership will surely be a repeat of what happened in 2023 when former Governor Ortom allegedly used his power to ensure that the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, won at the presidential election.

“That Obi’s victory in Benue State made the PDP to lose the governorship election in 2023.”

Therefore, NYC urged the National Working Committee of APC to immediately wade into the leadership crisis between Governor Hyacinth Alia and Senator George Akume before things get out of hand..

National Youths Coalition also expressed its displeasure about the way the victims of Zaki Biam-Gbeji massacres were not adequately compensated when the governorship candidate of *PDP* in the state, Mike Aondoakaa, was the Minister of Justice.
