2027: Shettima Submits Tinubu’s ₦100m APC Forms
Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Thursday officially submitted President Bola Tinubu’s expression of interest and nomination forms to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling the President’s readiness to seek another term in office.
The forms were presented at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
In a statement shared on his X account, Shettima said the submission confirms Tinubu’s intention to contest for the APC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Vice-President also urged governors, lawmakers, party leaders and other stakeholders within the ruling party to unite behind Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
According to him, the President has shown strong leadership in tackling Nigeria’s economic and social challenges through the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking shortly after handing over the forms, Shettima described the nomination documents as “priceless,” stressing that party members and supporters should rally behind the President for another four years in office.
“We are here first as Nigerians and also as loyal members of the APC to submit this valuable nomination form for our President and leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he prepares to continue leading the country for another term,” he stated.
He added that the achievements recorded so far under the Renewed Hope Agenda should encourage Nigerians and APC faithful to support Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
The submission marks one of the early moves by the ruling party ahead of preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
Earlier, James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State, had obtained the APC expression of interest and nomination forms on behalf of President Tinubu.
Faleke, who is also the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, picked up the forms in Abuja after the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, officially opened the process.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of Works, David Umahi, later endorsed the forms with their signatures.
The purchase of the forms, reportedly worth N100 million, formally kick-started Tinubu’s bid for re-election ahead of the 2027 polls.
