The crisis rocking Adamawa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took a different dimension, Monday, with the ‘Adamawa Business Women Support Group for Tinubu Re-election’ calling on the party to revisit the crisis rocking the party in Adamawa central senatorial district.
Addressing a press conference in Yola, the leader of the group, Hajiya Bilkisu Mohammed Song, frowned at the crisis rocking the party in the zone over the emergence of Mustapha Salihu as the party candidate.
She described his emergence as gross violation of party guidelines, due process and Nigerian constitution. She said he wanted to contest for the gubernatorial ticket until a night to the gubernatorial primaries when he withdrew and emerged as the party’s senatorial candidate for Adamawa central.
Bilkisu noted that the circumstance of his emergence was at the detriment of other aspirants who vied for the position.
She warned that if the issue is not addressed, the division would affect the chances of the party and the re- election bid of President Tinubu.
The group stated that their demand was based on patriotic desire and genuine concerns about the unity and success of the party in the zone.
