The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara state, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has urged President Bola Tinubu to consider raising Nigeria’s national minimum wage to N100,000.AbdulRazaq made the appeal during a Sallah homage visit by governors to the President’s residence in Lagos, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The NGF chairman said many states are already paying salaries close to N100,000 and suggested that a new national benchmark should be discussed.

He said governors were prepared to support a revised minimum wage arrangement once agreement is reached.
The governor noted that adjusting the minimum wage would reflect current economic conditions and help strengthen labour relations nationwide.
He also expressed confidence that President Tinubu would engage with stakeholders on the proposal to reach a workable solution for all parties.
