The Benue State chapter of the APC Elders Advisory Council has congratulated Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia following his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence party members and residents have in his leadership.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Council, led by Chief Senator Barnabas Gemade as Chairman, with Chief Lawrence Onoja serving as Deputy Chairman and Chief Emmanuel Jime as Secretary, praised Governor Alia for what it called his purposeful leadership and commitment to the development of Benue State.
The elders stated that the overwhelming support recorded during the primary election showed the appreciation of the people for the governor’s achievements in areas such as infrastructural development, peace building, workers’ welfare, and people-oriented governance.
According to the Council, the peaceful conduct and unity displayed during the APC primary exercise have further strengthened the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The APC Elders Advisory Council also pledged total support for Governor Alia’s re-election bid, assuring that party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women, and supporters across the state would work together to ensure victory for the APC at the polls.
The group urged members of the party and the people of Benue State to remain united and committed to sustaining peace, progress, and development under Governor Alia’s administration.
The statement further prayed for God’s wisdom, strength, and guidance for the governor as he continues to lead the state.
