Suswam backs Tinubu Ahead of 2027
Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has met with the State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He affirmed his commitment to the party and pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia ahead of the 2027 general election.
The meeting took place yesterday at the APC Secretariat in Makurdi, with the state party officials and supporters from the seven local government areas of zone A in attendance.
Deputy State Chairman, Alphonsus Indyur, welcomed the delegation, describing the visit as historic.
He said Suswam’s entry into the party represented a significant realignment in Benue politics and would strengthen APC’s organisational structure at all levels.
State Chairman, Dr. Benjamin Omale, described the visit as a symbol of unity and political maturity. He praised Senator Suswam for supporting the party and hailed President Tinubu and Governor Alia for their leadership and developmental achievements.
“Your presence reinforces our commitment to unity and progress. Together, we will work to ensure continued support for the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s re-election in 2027,” Dr. Omale said.
Senator Suswam said his decision to join the APC was motivated by Governor Alia’s developmental achievements and inclusive governance.
He expressed confidence that Benue would deliver substantial votes for President Tinubu in the forthcoming elections.
He commended the governor for sustaining ongoing projects and prioritising the welfare of Benue people, describing the removal of the fuel subsidy as a bold policy that had strengthened states’ finances.
Other speakers, including Elder David Amo and Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Assembly, Simon Gabo, who accompanied Senator Suswam, pledged support for the APC, President Tinubu and Alia’s re-election in 2027.
Former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Professor Nicholas Ada, former NAFDAC boss, Dr. Paul Orhii, lawmakers, local government chairmen, and stakeholders, elders and supporters of Senator Suswam from Zone A and beyond were also part of the visit.
