According to a report by The Sun on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has dismissed claims that the ruling party has lost public support, insisting that elections—not social media conversations—remain the true measure of political strength.

Speaking during an interview, Morka argued that social media platforms are largely dominated by supporters of opposition figures, including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar. However, he maintained that online popularity does not translate into electoral success, stressing that political parties are judged by their ability to mobilize voters on election day.

He said the APC has continued to secure victories in elections conducted across the country since the 2023 general elections, describing those outcomes as clear evidence that the party still commands widespread support despite criticism from opponents.

According to Morka, critics often use social media to portray the APC as an unpopular party, but election results have consistently proven otherwise. He emphasized that the decision of voters at the polls carries more weight than online debates or trending political discussions.

“They make a lot of noise claiming that Nigerians don’t like the APC. But every time an election is called, the APC wins. Look at the Ekiti State governorship election and the margin of our victory,” he said.

Morka added that although social media remains an important avenue for political engagement, the ultimate verdict on any political party is delivered by voters at the ballot box. He maintained that the APC’s recent electoral performances continue to reflect the confidence Nigerians have in the party.
