The House of Representatives candidate for Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Peter Terwase Tortiv-Ato has urged members of his media team to support and promote the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, as well as other PDP candidates, to ensure victory in the 2027 general elections.
Ato gave the charge while hosting members of his media team in Makurdi to appreciate them for their support and brief them on the way forward.
He thanked the team for their support during his governorship aspiration, which made him a household name in a short time and urged them to mobilise massive support for the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, stressing that having a PDP governor in the state would bring a double impact of development to the Jechira constituency and Benue State at large.
Ato explained that his aspiration for governorship was driven by a desire to serve the people, and now, as the PDP candidate for the Jechira House of Representatives seat, he would still serve the people by providing effective and people-oriented representation, assuring his constituents that he would serve as a strong Jechira voice at the National Assembly and attract meaningful developmental projects to the constituency.
He further stated that, if elected, he would remain accessible to the people through periodic constituency meetings aimed at identifying their challenges and finding practical solutions to them.
The Jechira House of Representatives hopeful, while noting that PDP remains the most stable party in the state and is well-positioned to win all elective positions in the 2027 elections, appreciated the leadership of the party, including the immediate past Governor of Benue State and leader of the party in the State, Chief Samuel Ortom, Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, and the party state executive led by Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, for providing the stability that enabled the emergence of consensus candidates.
In their separate remarks, Hon. Joe Yamga, Felix Saakon, Austine Adanwo, and Festus Dzever commended Ato’s humane leadership style, sportsmanship, and loyalty to the party, noting that he was the first aspirant to congratulate the party’s governorship candidate and accept the party’s decision in good faith.
They assured Ato of their continued support and for the party’s governorship candidate, describing Ato as a vibrant candidate who is easily accessible and would effectively represent Jechira in the Green Chamber and attract development to the constituency, adding that Ato has demonstrated a strong capacity for selfless service and urged the people of Jechira to support him for effective representation and grassroots-driven development.
