The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has affirmed 37 consensus candidates to contest the forthcoming State House of Assembly elections across the state.
The party said the candidates emerged after a consensus selection exercise conducted on May 22, 2026, following extensive consultations among party stakeholders in the various constituencies.
In a statement issued by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Bright Yima Antyo, the party described the process as transparent and in line with its commitment to unity and internal democracy ahead of the elections.
According to the statement, the affirmed candidates include Ayo Jeremiah Terungwa for Kwande East, Igbaakaa Aondoakura James for Konshisha I, Girgi Daniel Terlumun for Tiev, and John Anthony Ikwulono for Agatu State Constituency.
Others are Ekirigwe Moses Adams for Oju I, Oragande Iveren Geoffrey for Katsina-Ala East, Utsan Ngusha Fredrick for Gwer East, and Adugh Mtindiga for Katsina-Ala West State Constituency.
The list also features Dajoh Hyacinth Aondona for Gboko West, Emmanuel Benjamin for Konshisha II, Ikpa Ambrose Aondowase for Makurdi South-East, Bemsen Agugu Bernard for Mbagwa, and John Tersur for Tarka State Constituency.
Additional candidates affirmed by the party include Unah Gabriel for Apa, Chula Fidelis Iorkase for Kwande West, Akooma Aondoakura Aaron for Logo, Ukaa Ikyuan Abraham for Ukum II, and Mtagher Rodney Ortwer for Agasha State Constituency.
Others are Dickson Igbe Uwagh for Makurdi South, Joseph Agada Anyebe for Ogbadibo, Prince Tyodoo Livinus for Ukum I, Dzever Terkimbi for Buruku, and Shawa Terungwa Moses for Gboko Central State Constituency.
The party also affirmed Olofu Gabriel Adah for Adoka/Ugboju, Ochekliye Agbo Isaac for Ohimini, Onche Peter Ogbor for Obi, Bemgba Iortyom for Mata, and Manger Timothy for Nyamatsor State Constituency.
Also on the list are Gyila Solomon Terlumun for Gwer West, Dugeri Benjamin Ternenge for Kyan, Jerome Ilom for Okpokwu, Nomji Oroduen Titus for Makurdi North, Johnson Ahubi Egli for Otukpo/Akpa, Ochapa Isaac Odang for Ado, Iormbagah Jacob Aondohemba for Guma I, Ogbugo Christian Egbe for Oju II, and Chia Lubem Asuwa for Gboko East State Constituency.
The PDP reiterated its resolve to maintain unity within the party as preparations intensify for the forthcoming elections in Benue State.
