Former member of the House of Representatives, Herman Hembe, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Benue State following the conclusion of the party’s primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Hembe secured victory after polling a total of 46,526 votes to defeat two other aspirants in the keenly contested exercise.
According to the final results announced by the party’s electoral committee, Peter Adejoh came second with 31,990 votes, while Joseph Waya garnered 26,919 votes.

Joseph Waya — 26,919 votes
Speaking after the declaration, Hembe appreciated party delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work towards repositioning Benue State if elected governor in 2027.
The ADC primary attracted political stakeholders and supporters from across the state, as the party intensifies preparations for the forthcoming governorship election.
