Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Aondona Dajoh, has alleged that his removal from office was connected to his refusal to support the relocation of the Tor Tiv Palace from Gboko to Ihugh.
Dajoh claimed that his opposition to the proposed move put him at odds with powerful interests, ultimately leading to his ouster as Speaker. He further alleged that public funds were spent in an attempt to remove the Chief Judge of Benue State.
The former Speaker’s claims have sparked fresh debate in the state, with many calling for a thorough examination of the allegations and their implications for governance and traditional institutions in Benue.
The Benue State Government has yet to officially respond to the allegations. Stakeholders have urged the public to await the government’s reaction before drawing conclusions on the matter.
