Wike Mocks David Mark Over Past Reliance on Helicopters for Benue Trips

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at former Senate President David Mark, claiming that improved road infrastructure under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made it possible for the former lawmaker to travel to Makurdi by road instead of relying on helicopters.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Arterial Road N16–Ring Road III Interchange in Abuja, Wike alleged that during David Mark’s years as Senate President, many roads linking Abuja, Makurdi and Otukpo were in poor condition, forcing many travelers to endure difficult journeys while political leaders used alternative means of transportation.
According to Wike, the current administration’s road interventions have improved access to Benue State, allowing residents and political leaders alike to travel more conveniently by road. He argued that the achievements in road construction within three years of the Tinubu administration should be acknowledged, regardless of political differences.
The comments have since generated reactions from supporters and critics across the political space, with many debating the state of infrastructure development across different administrations.
