Shehu Sani Reacts As Gunmen Kill Miyetti Allah Leader After Peace Talks In Benue
According to a Facebook post on 28th June 2026, senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the killing of MACBAN Benue leader Ardo Risku by unknown gunmen.
He condemned the incident, describing it as a condemnable act. Sani emphasized that such acts undermine peace talks, reconciliation, and conflict resolution efforts across Nigeria. He stated that violence against those seeking peace creates dangerous precedents and hampers progress in resolving conflicts.
He pointed out that the killing of individuals who voluntarily sit at the peace table is particularly damaging. In his view, such violence will not help the cause of peace in Benue or other parts of the country. Sani called for a thorough investigation into the incident, insisting that the culprits must be brought to justice.
He partly wrote, “The murder of MACBAN Benue leader Ardo Risku and his Son Ibrahim who were reportedly returning from a peace meeting is condemnable. Killing people who voluntarily agree to sit on a table will not help the cause of peace. The killing must be thoroughly investigated and the culprits brought to justice.”
