The Benue State APC Elders Advisory Council, under the leadership of Senator Barnabas Gemade, with Gen. Lawrence Onoja as Deputy and Barr Emmanuel Jime as Secretary, has joined the Governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, to celebrate the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of the Benue workforce on the occasion of Workers’ Day.
In a goodwill message, the council commended Governor Alia for his worker-friendly policies and unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of civil servants across the state. They noted that the Governor has demonstrated exceptional leadership by going beyond federal benchmarks through the approval and consistent payment of the ₦75,000 minimum wage, a move widely seen as a bold step toward enhancing workers’ living standards and restoring confidence in governance.
The elders emphasized that the Governor’s people-centered approach and prudent management of resources have not only strengthened the workforce but also repositioned Benue State on the path of sustainable growth and stability. They reaffirmed their confidence in his administration, describing it as responsive, responsible, and deeply aligned with the aspirations of the common man.
The council further urged workers across the state to continue to support and stand firmly behind Governor Alia, particularly as he advances policies aimed at economic recovery, institutional reforms, and grassroots development. They stressed that sustained collaboration between the government and the workforce remains critical to consolidating the gains already recorded.
While congratulating workers on their special day, the APC elders called for renewed commitment, discipline, and patriotism, assuring them that the present administration will continue to prioritize their welfare and create an enabling environment for productivity and prosperity.
